BALLARAT'S cafes and restaurants will put their best toasties forward this May as part of Plate Up Ballarat.

The inaugural Toast of Ballarat will be a melting pot of flavours and creative combinations, transforming the humble toasted sandwich into a taste sensation. 

Keep your eyes peeled for the special toastie mascot, flags and signature toastie wraps, exclusively designed by Ballarat street artist Travis Price.

Cheese & Briskets 
Cape Grim brisket smoked by local Rebellion Barbecue with American cheddar and in-house thick cut signature sourdough.

DRIVE me Philly  
This version of the Philly Cheesesteak Toastie is gooey and delightfully messy. A great combo of thinly sliced beef, mushrooms, onions and lots of cheese served in a toasted roll.

Loreto College VCAL students will create their signature toastie and sell it from their retro caravan, The Hunter. Those keen to unravel the mystery can come and be amazed by this mouth-watering treat!
