HISTORY will come to life this month as part of the annual re-enactment event - The Timeline Festival.
Held over three days in October, the festival will be held at Kryal Castle between October 19 and 21, attracting more than 350 re-enactors and merchants covering time periods from Ancient Rome through to WWII.
While the festival is centres around re-enactment activities showcasing the skills and crafts of the re-enactment community, it also welcomes members of the public to wear their own costumes and embrace history, today!
The festival will feature a Living History Village, Viking Village, and Medieval Village, as well as a full metal combat arena, a 14th century tavern, a blacksmith forge, period traders and market stalls.
Activities in the main arena and around the castle will include the mounted skill at arms competition, the castle jousters, the NVG Viking combat, Napoleonic black powder (musket) display, The Pioneers Challenge (Musket and Axe), The Knattleikr (a traditional Viking ball game) as well as all of Kryal Castle's traditional activities.
With food, drinks and children's entertainment throughout the three days, this festival is sure to be a hit amongst old and young alike!
