ADMIRE Doctor Blake's vintage automobile, take a seat behind his famous desk, and relax in his coveted loungeroom as part of the new exhibition Doctor Blake's Ballarat.
The exhibition is set to be staged at Ballarat's Gold Museum between April and September, bringing the cult ABC series to life.
Celebrating the international success of the hit television show, Doctor Blake's Ballarat will consist of two parts; Cast and Crew - providing a glimpse into the people and props invoved in the series; and On Location - looking at the iconic Ballarat locations featured in the show.
The exhibition will showcase 11 of the Doctor Blake costumes, as well as images, fabric swatches, set sketches, and props. Other highlights include the doc's loungeroom in all its glory, a Doctor Blake's desk and his 1937 Coventry Standard automobile which will welcome visitors at the museum entrance.
Sovereign Hill chief executive officer Jeremy Johnson says the exhibition will allow Blake fans to truly immerse themselves into the exciting world of Lucien Blake.
"Fans of the series are going to love the exhibition, but so too will anyone interested in fashion, the creative television process, as well as touring groups,” Jeremy says.
“The Doctor Blake Mysteries has been an international success story, shown in more than 130 countries, and has helped to put Ballarat on the world stage."
A series of talks and presentations will be held throughout the exhibition, including a Meet the Makers series with the Blake creative team, producer George Adams, as well as other crew members.
"The exhibition offers visitors a real glimpse into the world of this beloved television series,” Jeremy says.
The Doctor Blake exhibition will run from April 11 to September 3.
