WE'RE going to tell you exactly how you should spend your White Night Ballarat weekend.

Secure your ticket to an indulgent degustation feast as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Regional Longest Lunch. Held down Ballarat's iconic Hop Lane, this event will see the city's inner circle of restaurants join forces to create a series of dishes, matched perfectly with the region's best wines and craft beers. Trust us, this is one dining experience you're not going to want to miss!

Take a waltz around the city centre and admire the galleries dotted across the CBD. Admire the works of contemporary and old art before familiarising yourselves with the locations of tomorrow's White Night festivities.

Settle in to one of Ballarat's luxurious hotels or self-contained apartments and catch some much-needed zzzzzs before it's time to pull an all-nighter!

Take a stroll or jog around the beautiful 6-kilometre Lake Wendouree track and admire the swans as they glide by the glistening waters.

Grab some coffee and breakfast/brunch at one of the lakeside vendors including Racer's Cafe, The Lake View Hotel or Piper's by The Lake, and savour the tastes as you relax by the water's edge.

Walk through Ballarat's Botanical Gardens and explore all that this iconic landmark has to offer. Marvel at the Italian marble statues and the Prime Minister's Avenue, or simply meander through the century-old trees and blossoming flowers.

Find your place at one of Ballarat's restaurants before White Night kicks off. Make sure to book your place in advance to avoid missing out!

White Night
Get set to reimagine the night with music, installations, bold and colourful light displays and an abundance of wonder. White Night Ballarat runs from 7pm through to 2am, so sport your most comfortable threads and witness the city come to life in a whole new light.

After a much-needed sleep-in (late checkout is a must this weekend!), load the car and set off to the Pyrenees Wine Region to continue the weekend's theme of fine food and wine. Stop over at The Avoca Hotel for an award-winning feed before venturing around the region and experiencing the best in vino and spirits. If you'd prefer someone else to do the hard work, check out the Golden Nugget Pyrenees Wine Tours - the perfect way to explore the wine region.

If coffee is your drink of choice, use Sunday to brunch at one of the city's much-loved cafes and find the perfect cup of coffee to round off the entire weekend experience.
