HEADING to Ballarat for the school holidays? Here is how we think you should spend your time.

DAY ONE

Morning

Start the morning off with an extreme bounce at - Xtreme Bounce! With inter-linked trampolines, a high-jump air bag, Xtreme Basketball trampolines and a wipeout arena, there's plenty to wear the kids out for the morning! Make sure to book your spot in advance though, as sessions sell out quickly.

Lunchtime

Head to Knife Fork Spoon for an over-the-top shake accompanied by some tasty eats. The little ones can also indulge in some cupcakes and get their colouring skills into gear while they wait for their food.

Afternoon

Nicole & Pigs

Head to Sovereign Hill and check out all the school holiday fun. With a focus on baby animals, visitors will have the chance to get up-close-and-personal with the museum's menagerie while taking part in all the classic Sovereign Hill activities.

Evening

DAY TWO

Morning

If there's one thing kids go crazy about, it's pancakes. Hit up The Pancake Kitchen - mmmm, lovely - for the best short stack in town. Hydrant Food Hall also serves up some beautiful rainbow pancakes complete with hundreds and thousands, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas and syrup. A sure crowd pleaser! The cafe houses a great cubby nook as well so you can dine in peace!

Mid morning

Find your spot on the lush Ballarat Botanical Gardens' lawn for a picnic, or dine-in at one of the lakeside cafes including Racer's or Piper's by the Lake for a delightful spring lunch.

BRT Full Size-I made it-6701

For a more creative venture, Ballarat's I Made It Creative Cafe is a great space for the children to explore their artsy side while Mum and Dad enjoy a coffee and some homemade grub!

Afternoon

BRT Full Size-Wildlife Park-1841

Use this time to visit another of Ballarat's much loved attractions. The Ballarat Wildlife Park (kangaroos, koalas, crocs and penguins), Kryal Castle (jousting, potion workshops, and dragons), and Maze House (hedge maze, garden and cafe) are all great places to explore and will keep the children entertained for hours on end. If you can't fit them all in, just make sure to extend your Ballarat stay or come back at a later date!
